Getting Started

Where is Almighty Storage located?

We’re at 37327 Commerce Lane, Prairieville, LA 70769 — just off Airline Highway (U.S.-61), close to LA-42 and I-10. Most customers in Prairieville, Gonzales, St. Amant, Geismar, and Dutchtown can reach us in under 10 minutes.

Coming from South Baton Rouge? We’re a straight shot across the parish line off I-10 — about 20 minutes from downtown.

How do I rent a storage unit?

You can rent entirely online in under 10 minutes — no office visit required. Select your unit size, complete your lease, and pay online. Your gate code is sent by email and you can move in the same day. If you prefer to rent in person, our office is open Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:30 PM and Saturday 9 AM–2 PM.

Can I move in the same day I rent?

Yes. Once your online move-in is complete and your confirmation email arrives with your gate code, you can access your unit immediately — including same day. Gate access runs 6 AM to 10 PM daily.

What do I need to rent a storage unit?

To rent online you’ll need:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID
  • A credit or debit card for payment
  • Proof of rental protection (or you can purchase a plan through us at checkout)

You do not need to visit the office unless you prefer to.

Is rental protection / insurance required?

Yes, rental protection is required for all units. You can purchase one of our affordable protection plans at checkout, or provide proof of your own coverage by email, mail, or in person. Your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy may already cover items in storage — check with your provider.

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

No. All of our storage units are month-to-month. There’s no long-term commitment — stay as long as you need and move out when you’re ready with proper notice.

What’s the difference between a drive-up unit and a temperature-controlled unit?

Drive-up units are ground-floor units with exterior doors — you pull your vehicle right up to the door and load or unload directly. Great for furniture, tools, equipment, and items you access frequently. They are not temperature-regulated.

Temperature-controlled units are inside an enclosed building, accessed through an interior hallway, and maintained between 55°F and 80°F year-round. Best for electronics, wood furniture, documents, photos, and anything sensitive to heat or humidity.

Not sure which is right for you? If you’re storing anything you’d keep inside your home, temperature-controlled is the safer choice in Louisiana’s climate.

How much does a storage unit cost in Prairieville?

Pricing varies by unit size, type (temperature-controlled vs. drive-up), and current availability. The best way to see current pricing is to check our availability page online — pricing is live and up to date. We offer competitive rates with no hidden fees, and we frequently run move-in specials.

Do you sell boxes, locks, and packing supplies?

Yes. We sell locks, boxes, tape, and other packing supplies at our office. Locks are not included with your rental — you’ll need to bring your own or purchase one from us.

Temperature-Controlled Storage

Is temperature-controlled storage the same as climate-controlled?

These terms are often used interchangeably in the storage industry, but there is a difference. Climate-controlled typically refers to units that regulate both temperature and humidity. Temperature-controlled means we regulate the temperature — keeping it between 55°F and 80°F — which significantly reduces heat damage and helps limit moisture buildup, though we do not actively control humidity levels separately.

For most items — furniture, electronics, documents, clothing — temperature control is the key factor. If you have specific humidity concerns, call us and we’ll help you assess your options.

What temperature do you maintain in your controlled units?

Our temperature-controlled units are maintained between 55°F and 80°F year-round. That range protects against the extreme heat spikes that cause the most damage to furniture, electronics, and other sensitive belongings — especially during Louisiana summers when outdoor temperatures regularly hit the upper 90s.

How do temperature-controlled units compare to drive-up units for price?

Temperature-controlled units are typically priced higher than drive-up units of the same size because of the building infrastructure required to maintain consistent temperatures. The difference is usually worth it for sensitive or irreplaceable items. Check our availability page for current pricing on both types side by side.

What items should go in a temperature-controlled unit?

Anything that would be damaged by sitting in a hot, humid environment.

In Louisiana’s climate, that includes:

  • Electronics — TVs, computers, cameras, hard drives
  • Wood furniture — especially antiques and heirlooms
  • Documents, books, and photographs
  • Musical instruments
  • Artwork and collectibles
  • Clothing and delicate textiles stored long-term
  • Vinyl records, media collections
Are temperature-controlled units inside the building?

Yes. Temperature-controlled units are housed inside a fully enclosed building and accessed through an interior hallway. You will not be loading or unloading outdoors. LED lighting throughout the building keeps the interior well lit at all times.

RV & Boat Storage

What RV and boat storage options do you offer?

We offer three RV options and two boat options:

  • Enclosed RV Storage — Full enclosure, maximum protection
  • Covered RV Parking — Overhead cover, open sides
  • Outdoor RV Parking — Open-air assigned space, most affordable
  • Enclosed Boat Storage — Full enclosure for boat and trailer
  • Covered Boat Storage — Overhead cover from sun and rain

We just completed a major expansion — 91 new enclosed RV and boat bays are now open. Check availability online.

Can my RV or boat actually fit? What are your drive aisle widths?

Yes. We built this facility with large vehicles in mind. Our 60-foot wide drive aisles give you plenty of room to maneuver a full-size RV, fifth wheel, or boat on a trailer. New enclosed bays accommodate units up to 20×50.

What are the access hours for RV and boat storage?

RV, boat, and commercial parking customers have 24/7 access with approval. Standard gate hours (6 AM–10 PM daily) apply to most other unit types. If you need 24/7 access, let us know when you rent and we’ll set it up.

Is my RV or boat secure while it’s stored?

Yes. The facility is protected by secure gate access and 24/7 digital video surveillance. Enclosed bays provide the highest level of security and weather protection. For maximum peace of mind, we recommend enclosed storage for long-term or off-season storage.

Do I need special insurance for RV or boat storage?

Rental protection is required for all units including RV and boat storage. Your existing auto, RV, or marine insurance policy may already include coverage while stored off-premises — check with your provider. If not, we can help you find a protection plan at checkout.

Can I store a vehicle at Almighty Storage?

Yes. In addition to RV and boat storage, we offer vehicle storage for cars, trucks, and other personal vehicles. Vehicles must be registered, insured, and in operable condition. Contact us for available options and current pricing.

Policies & Rentals

What can I NOT store in a storage unit?

The following are prohibited:

  • Flammable or hazardous materials (gasoline, propane, chemicals)
  • Firearms, explosives, or illegal items
  • Perishable food or living plants
  • Animals or living creatures of any kind
  • Items that produce odors that may affect neighboring units

When in doubt, call us — we’re happy to help you figure out if something is okay to store.

Can I live in my storage unit?

No. Living in a storage unit is illegal in Louisiana and unsafe. Units are not designed for habitation and do not have proper utilities, ventilation, or emergency exits. This is a strict policy with no exceptions.

How much notice do I need to give when I move out?

Please review the notice requirement in your lease agreement — typically 10–15 days written notice is required before vacating. Contact our office at (225) 744-4200 or stop by and we’ll walk you through the move-out process.

Do you hold auctions for unpaid units?

Yes, but only as a last resort after all required steps under Louisiana state lien law have been followed for delinquent accounts. We make every effort to contact tenants and work out a resolution before an auction ever occurs.

Do you offer moving truck rentals or movers?

We do not provide moving trucks or movers directly, but we can share a list of local moving companies in the Prairieville and Ascension Parish area. We sell moving supplies in our office, and our drive-up units make loading and unloading convenient with 60-foot wide drive aisles.

How do I pay my bill online?

Click the “My Account” button at the top of our website, log in with your account credentials, and navigate to your account balance to make a payment or set up autopay for future months.

Do you offer autopay?

  • Refer a Friend — Both you and your referral receive $50 off your next month’s rent
  • Senior Discount (65+) — 10% off monthly rent
  • Active-Duty Military — 10% off monthly rent

Contact our office to apply a discount to your account.

Are there any move-in specials or promotions?

We periodically offer move-in specials on select unit sizes. The best way to see current promotions is to check our availability page online — specials are displayed there when available. You can also call our office at (225) 744-4200 to ask about current deals.

What happens if I pay late?

Late payments may result in a late fee and, if left unresolved, restricted access to your unit. We encourage tenants to set up autopay to avoid any issues. If you’re having trouble making a payment, call us at (225) 744-4200 — we’d rather work something out than have a problem escalate.
